Rumor has been spread throughtout Europe that Jose "The Special One" Mourinho is the strongest candidate for the England job. Beside him, outstanding managers like Fabio Capello, Marcello Lippi, Martin O'Neill are also linked with the job that is considered to be the hottest seat in the world of football. So far, Capello is the only man who expressed his intention to coach England while Mourinho is still waiting for the FA offer. O'Neill and Lippi has said that they are not interested to be the next England manager.
Both Capello and Mourinho are tremendous managers. They have proven their reputations in European football. Capello was the man behind Milan success (also known as The Dream Team) back in the 90's. His 2 terms in Real Madrid ended with throphies for Los Merengues. Early in the 2000's, Capello brought Roma to the scudetto, something The Giallorossi couldn't achieve after Capello's departure to Juventus. In other word, anything Capello touched turned into gold.
Mourinho is considered one of the best young managers in the world. At the age of 40's, he proved himself when he brought Porto as the Champions League winner back in 2004. We know that Porto wasn't considered as a strong candidate at that time. Mourinho's achievement with Porto trully raised some eye brows and suddenly his name was in the lip of every football fan. When he moved to Chelsea, the same success followed him. 2 back to back title leagues only proves his capability as a football manager. Eventhough he failed to win in Europe with Chelsea, Mourinho is still the best manager The Blues ever had.
Capello or Mourinho? it's pretty hard to choose since they both are successful and genious. But if it was for me to choose, I would say that Capello is more suitable for the job. Why? Because he has more experience than Mourinho. Capello had been successful with big clubs which means he can handle any pressure. So far, Chelsea is the only big football clubs for Mourinho. I doubt that he can handle the pressure being England manager. When it comes to tactical knowledge, I think those 2 managers are in the same level.
