Euro 2008 will miss the presence of England, a nation that claim themselves as the inventor of football. As one the biggest nation in international football, England's absence is considered as a big loss for the Euro 2008 because England is a very marketable team. Everybody feels that Euro 2008 will miss it's attractiveness without England around. But I myself feel that Euro 2008 will still be a big tournament even without the Three Lions playing in it. Europe is so filled with great football nations as well as talented players. I don't think that Euro 2008 will be less attractive without England.
As the world champion, Italy will give us a very entertaining football games to watch. They have calibre players to do so. I know Italy has always been known as a defensive team and that's not something so entertaining to watch. It's not entirely wrong but, to be honest, Italy always a joy to watch. I think they now know how to play an attacking football. With great talents on the offensive side like Del Piero, Toni, Iaquinta, and Inzaghi, we can expect a great attacking style of football from the Italian.
Let's not forget Portugal. It's interesting to see how Ronaldo dancing and dribbling from the flank. I still remember how he cried 4 years ago after losing the final game from Greece. I bet next year Ronaldo will play with more enthusiasm to redeem his failure 4 years. By the way, Portugal also have Nani who I think is one the best young talents in European football right now. Everybody will be excited to see what he can do next year.
Speaking of youngsters, let's not forget that France have Karim Benzema and Samir Nasri. These 2 youngsters have gained a lot of attention from international football fans because of their performance this season. France will also include Franck Ribery who played very well last year in the World Cup. Now, he's getting more mature and has become a key player for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Germany are also interesting to watch. Last year, I think they proved themselves as the most entertaining team in the World Cup. If they can play the same way they did last year, there's a good chance for team in Euro 2008.
No England in Euro 2008? No problem!!
